Masters Report
Body camera footage released by the Oregon State Police on Monday provided a look at the arrest of Genesis Hansen, who was stopped by Trooper Kelly Kastsikis in Corvallis on Oct. 13. When the officer asked her to provide identification, the cyclist refused and instead questioned why she needed to show it in the first place, KATU reported.
According to the American Civil Liberties Union, Oregon state law does not require pedestrians to carry identification on them or show ID when stopped by law enforcement – though “police may detain you until they establish your identity.”
