In US news and current events today, rapper Killer Mike of Run the Jewels made a passionate, emotional speech about the ongoing protests sparked by the killing of George Floyd. For Killer Mike, Atlanta is more than a home, it's his community, and the Atlanta protests against police brutality have shone a harsh light on the crime and abuse of power committed by many cops and police in the Unites States. 

For Killer Mike, George Floyd represents the latest in a string of extrajudicial killings of Black people in America, and as the George Floyd protests have escalated into what some are calling the George Floyd riots, Killer Mike speech pleads with a hurting nation to address injustice, acknowledge that Black Lives Matter, and find a peaceful way to make our voices heard. From the Atlanta protests, to Minneapolis, Washington DC, New York, and all across the country, people are rising up in defiance of police brutality, and we can only hope that peace and justice will prevail.
