Michigan Ranked #2 In The United States For Human Trafficking

Human trafficking in Michigan has skyrocketed over the past decade. Now more than ever people need to be on the lookout to keep their family safe.

Michigan is ranked #2 in the country for human trafficking, right behind Nevada. There are more than 1.5 million cases of human trafficking in the United States, including more than 2,000 cases of sex trafficking nationally.

So why is Michigan ranked so high? Some say due to being so close to Canada, traffickers can easily take victims across the border. The National Human Trafficking Resource center reports that since 2007 they have received 1969 calls and 483 cases just from Michigan.
